At this time of year it is always important to remember your roots.
Before rock n roll, blues, motown, folk, and soul were the most popular genres of music. Then came the Beatles and the British Invasion.
This was the start of several genres, including British based Blues, Soul Rock, and Psychedelia.
Bruno Mars falls into the category of soul rock. It is a sort of soul and rock fusion that is really hard to place in just one genre.
In any case, Bruno Mars is very successful with this fusion today. Take a listen.
